Volunteer with On Angels' Wings
Make a Difference in the Lives of Families Facing Unimaginable Circumstances
At On Angels’ Wings, our volunteers play a crucial role in bringing our mission to life. Whether through assisting with our therapeutic photography sessions, helping organize events, or providing support during our grief recovery services, your time and talents can make an enormous impact on the families we serve.

How to get involved.
We welcome all who are passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of families in need. Your time and efforts can bring immense value to our organization and the families we serve.
Potential Volunteers must sign a Conduct Agreement and may be subject to a background check due to the nature of our services.

Volunteer with On Angels’ Wings
On Angels’ Wings (OAW) supports families facing the unthinkable — the loss of a child or the journey of caring for
a child with a terminal risk diagnosis. Volunteers are the heart of our mission, ensuring families feel seen,
supported, and never alone.
All volunteers are required to complete a Conduct Service Agreement before serving with OAW. Certain
opportunities — such as working directly with children at our grief camps — also require a background check to
ensure the safety of our families.
You don’t have to be a photographer to make an impact — Together, we ensure that no family walks through loss or hardship alone.
Here are some meaningful ways to get involved:
Meal Support
Join us each month as we serve dinner at the Ronald McDonald House. Volunteers help prepare, serve, and share a
comforting meal with families staying there while their child receives medical care. You don’t have to commit every
month — most volunteers sign up just once or twice a year, making this a flexible and meaningful way to help.
Session Host
Be a welcoming presence at our OAW studio. Hosts greet families, offer snacks and coffee, entertain siblings with
activities, and support photographers during sessions. Hosts may also capture “behind-the-scenes” photos and
video clips that showcase the OAW experience.
Children’s Grief Day Camp
Step into a child’s world of healing. Volunteers assist with check-in, lead craft stations, supervise activities, and
encourage kids as they process big feelings through play and art. Some may be paired one-on-one as “buddies” to
provide extra support.
Making Memories Day Carnival
Our annual family carnival is all about laughter and joy. Volunteers help run game booths, serve food, guide
families through activities, and assist with set-up or clean-up. It’s a day filled with fun — and unforgettable smiles.
MMD After Dark Gala
This glamorous evening fundraiser supports all of OAW’s free services. Volunteers assist with event setup,
registration, silent auction support, guest hospitality, and teardown. Committee roles are also available for those
who want to help with décor, logistics, or auction planning in advance.
Research & Data Collection
Help OAW grow its impact behind the scenes. Volunteers can assist with tasks like researching potential partner
organizations in our service areas, collecting community resources for families, or gathering data that strengthens
our programs and outreach.
Awareness & Community Engagement
Be the voice of OAW in your community. Opportunities include:
– Community Ambassador: Represent OAW at local resource fairs, church events, or school programs.
– Fundraising Support: Share and promote OAW fundraising efforts when a campaign or peer-led fundraiser is
happening.
– Social Media Advocacy: Share OAW campaigns or create content that spreads awareness.
– Corporate/Church Liaison: Connect OAW with your workplace, church, or civic group to open doors for
partnerships.
– Host a Gathering: Organize a small gathering of friends, coworkers, or community members where an OAW team
member can share our mission and impact.
Professional Expertise
Do you have skills in marketing, PR, counseling, design, IT, grant research, or another professional area? OAW
welcomes pro bono contributions from experts who want to share their talents in service of families.
Transportation Helpers
Sometimes the most helpful thing is a set of wheels. Volunteers assist by delivering supplies, auction items, or
materials between events and chapters, making sure everything arrives where it’s needed most.
