*The On Angels’ Wings Kids’ Grief Day Camp is a one-day therapeutic experience designed for children within the designated age group who are grieving the loss of a loved one. Through creative and expressive activities led by trained facilitators and volunteers, children learn healthy ways to express emotions, build connections with peers who understand their experiences, and develop coping tools for their ongoing grief journey.
The camp is overseen by a licensed counselor specializing in grief and trauma (who is also an OAW board member and OAW loss recipient) as well as two additional Executive Board Members who are certified in grief recovery to ensure a safe and supportive environment for all participants. All staff and volunteers have undergone a thorough background check before being allowed to participate.
Please note that submission of the application does not guarantee acceptance into the camp. Each applicant will participate in a required Zoom interview with both the child and parent/guardian to ensure that the camp is an appropriate fit and that both are ready for participation and the follow-up support practices that accompany it.
Parents/guardians of accepted campers will also be required to attend a mandatory Zoom debrief meeting on an evening the week before camp to prepare for the camp day. Attendance at this meeting is essential; failure to attend will result in forfeiture of the child’s camp spot. By submitting this application, you acknowledge and agree to this requirement.
