What is Trisomy?

Trisomy is when an extra copy of a chromosome is present in the body’s cells, causing many abnormalities.

Trisomy 13

An extra copy of the 13th chromosome, that occurs in fewer than 200,000 pregnancies per year.

Trisomy 18

An extra copy of the 18th chromosome, that occurs in fewer than 20,000 pregnancies per year.
